Why is it that some people can’t let go of the past? Whenever I see other people who can’t seem to get over their ex and I just tell them to move on. It’s not easy I know, but why dwell in the past when it’ll only make you sad. Besides, it’s a fantasy to think that things can go back to the way they were and that it’ll stay that way. Or am I being a pessimist?
And yet here I am, about 3 years since I last spoke to Matt, wondering what the hell he’s up to. That sad part is I don’t even know who this Matt person really is; but just an idealised image of him from all our email conversations. Yes email conversations, that’s all we ever had. Al keeps telling me to delete those old emails we had and yet just as I’m about to hit the delete button I close the window and do something else.
A sad hypocrite. That’s what I am.
