So Jan finally turns 21 today! Happy Birthday! It’s time to bring out the traditional birthday donut again.

Happy Birthday Jan

Speaking of donuts, doesn’t anyone miss Dunkin’ Donuts?? ugh i’m so hungry. I didn’t have any dinner cause there’s nothing to eat at home and I’m too lazy to go out. =(

So mañana I’ll be heading out to LA to have dinner with all the J’s (Joyce, Juno, Jan). Considering it’s Jan’s 21st we’ll be hitting WeHo to get him wasted. woohoo! I should bring my camera.. hehe.

Drinking is out of the question for me since I’m not gonna sleep over at Jan’s love shack becuase his mommy is there. Besides last time I got drunk I had the worst hangover so I don’t mind staying away from the alcolici. Also Juno and I are gonna go to the badminton club on Saturday so we need to be ready for that. Heck we’ve been practising for the past 3 or 4 weeks, so I hope we actually get to beat someone this time. If not I might as well quit badminton.

Bleu Title

In other news, I finally got to see Krzysztof Kieslowski’s Bleu (trailer) last Saturday. I’ve been looking forward to this movie for quite some time now but was surprised as to how good the movie was when I finally got to see it. It’s about this woman, played by Juliette Binoche, who loses her entire family in a car crash. She loses her family at the start so the most of the movie is spent following Juliette’s character as she tries to separate (or liberate) herself from the people close to her so that she doesn’t have to lose anyone important again.

The movie really is genious you know… it’s almost like reading poetry. It’s great just watching it and taking it for what it is, but gets even better once you realise how everything ties in together and figure out what Kieslowski is trying to say.

Luliette Binoche in Bleu

Juliette is amazing in this movie. She was able to convey so much emotion without saying so much you know. Come to think of it, yeah there really wasn’t much talking.. it might turn off some of you guys but you shouldn’t let that deter you.

Bleu is actually the first part of Kieslowski’s triology, Trois Couleurs. Blanc and Rouge are the two other films.. no surprise there. I can’t wait for Blanc! It was supposed to arrive today but I guess it got lost somewhere along the way :-(
